Volunteers Sought to Staff Library
Volunteers are needed to staff the Soliz-El Rio Library weekdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The public library, at 2820 Jourdan St. in El Rio, is now open Mondays through Thursdays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Officials at the Ventura County Library Services Agency said expanded hours would permit the library to better serve residents.
Volunteers will receive four hours of training on library policies, shelving books and use of computerized information systems. After being trained, volunteers will be asked to work a minimum of four hours each week for three months.
Volunteers will be required to file library materials numerically and alphabetically, and should be able to read in dim light and to push a book cart. No previous library experience is required, but applicants must be reliable and possess a warm, friendly manner.
For more information, call Ventura County Supervisor John Flynn’s office at (805) 654-2706.
