IRVINE — Hughes Data Systems said it has been awarded a contract to supply the Patent and Trademark Office with computer equipment worth more than $152 million over the next three years.
The deal is the latest in a series of government contracts worth hundreds of millions of dollars to Hughes Data, an Irvine-based subsidiary of General Motors’ Hughes Aircraft Co. Hughes is to provide computer workstations, monitors, printers and other peripherals to the Patent and Trademark Office. The company does not make computer products, but packages and installs them for large government and corporate customers.
