Wilderness Wonders

Thank you for your article on Minnesota Boundary Waters and the Gunflint Lodge (“Across Serene Lakes . . . “ April 28). Both were beyond our expectations. We travel extensively and have never experienced anything as calm and serene as the Boundary Waters.
I doubt that there is a better jumping off point or better outfitters than the Gunflint people. The lodge accommodations were great. The food of gourmet quality.
The portage equipment and food for our three days of camping was excellent. -- Best of all, the prices were very reasonable. Two nights in the lodge, breakfast and dinner at the lodge (first and last night), all camping equipment and food as well as use of a canoe for three days, was $846 for two people.
We’re going back next year for one of the most incredible wilderness experiences left in the U.S.
