Friends as Family

* As a man living with AIDS, I was very touched to read the article, “Friends in Sickness and Health” (June 19). It gave me insights into my own situation that I had never put into cogent thoughts before. Especially the notion that friends are of more support than blood relations due to the lack of emotional baggage. This has been my experience with my friends and family with the progression of AIDS. There is no family like the one that you put together yourself!
