Bus Service Stops Short of Reasonable
* I’m writing in regard to the Ventura County Transportation Commission’s vote to take all the state transit money and use it for roads, saying that all reasonable needs for public transit are met. That is not so.
We have no bus service on weekends, and during the week, my husband, who is totally blind, must rely on dial-a-ride to get to work at Los Robles Hospital because regular bus service doesn’t go to the main entrance of the hospital. Clearly, it is inconvenient. Plus we need more direct routes and expansion of service.
Don’t forget, you professionals have your fancy cars, while people like us have to depend on transit. Wait until you get old and need dial-a-ride or have to wait for the bus. You will understand.
