Collins Twins Share Top Award

Twins Jason and Jarron Collins of Harvard-Westlake High have been selected the Southern Section Division III boys’ basketball co-players of the year.
Jason Collins, a 6-foot-11 junior center, averaged 18.2 points, 11.9 rebounds and 3.1 blocked shots to lead the Wolverines (30-2) to the state championship. He also was The Times’ Valley Player of the Year.
Jarron Collins, a 6-10 junior, averaged 14.3 points, 9.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists.
Josh Jimenez, who averaged 23 points for Santa Paula, joins the Collins twins on the first team.
Players from the region receiving second-team honors were Kevin Lawrence and Brian Donahue of Moorpark and Danny Bush of La Canada.
In Division IV, Santa Clara senior guard Adam Lopez, who averaged 17.3 points, was a first-team selection.
Matt Lavere of Villanova Prep was a second-team pick.
