Coach: Geoff Carter (second year).
1995: 17-1, 10-0 in the Sunset League; lost in the quarterfinals of the Southern SectionDivision I playoffs to Camarillo.
Key returners: William Chen, doubles, Sr.; Ed Huang, No. 3 singles, 47-1 in doubles last year, So.; Brian Geddes, singles, 35-6 last year, Jr.; Todd Kaplan, No. 1 or No. 2 singles, Sr.; Seth Linden, doubles, Sr.; Adriano Satele, doubles, Sr.; Nilesh Vora, doubles, went 45-3 with Satele last year; Sr.
Key newcomers: Dave Boire, doubles, Jr.; Cody Jackson, No. 1 or 2 singles, ranked 28th nationally by U.S. Tennis Assn. in boys’ 14s; Samir Vora, singles & doubles, Fr.
Outlook: Los Alamitos was undefeated during the regular season, but a tougher nonleague schedule this year has already produced a loss. The improved competition should help the new doubles teams get acquainted and should help Jackson and Vora adjust to the one-set match format of high school tennis. Los Alamitos probably doesn’t have the singles talent to compete with the top Division I teams, but it has enough overall depth to win the Sunset League title again.
