Anheuser-Busch Wants Competitors to Make Disclosures: The maker of Budweiser and five small breweries have petitioned the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms to rule that microbreweries should disclose whether beer has been brewed by larger breweries under contract. St. Louis-based Anheuser-Busch Cos. said Boston Beer Co., maker of Samuel Adams, and Pete’s Brewing Co. regularly contract out production to such giants as Stroh Brewing Co. and G. Heilman Brewing Co. Anheuser-Busch also wants Miller Brewing Co. to disclose on its labels that it is the alter ego of Plank Road Brewery, and it wants Adolph Coors Co. to do the same regarding Unibev Corp., brewer of Blue Moon beer. Anheuser-Busch owns 25% of Redhook Ale Brewing Co., which is among the breweries that joined the petition.
