Racial Epithets Spur Apology

Administrators at Crescenta Valley High have apologized to Pasadena Muir basketball players and coaches who found racial epithets on a locker-room blackboard after their 86-68 Pacific League victory at Crescenta Valley on Tuesday night.
Gary Talbert, who had been a basketball coach at Muir before becoming principal at Crescenta Valley, said apologies were both oral and written and that he also reported the incident to the CIF Southern Section.
“We don’t tolerate or condone this in any way,” Talbert said. “Nobody knows who did it, but we’re investigating.”
