Carjacker Makes Off With Computer Parts

IRVINE — Irvine police are looking for a man who carjacked a Jeep Friday afternoon with $140,000 in computer components that the driver had just picked up from a local manufacturer.
The bandit approached the 1989 Jeep about 4:55 p.m. near the intersection of Gillette and Kaiser avenues and pointed a handgun at the driver, police said.
The red two-door Jeep has a gray top and the license plate 2LIL390. It also has spotlights on the roof and a tow bar hitch.
The suspect is described as 5 feet 10, Latino and heavyset, with short, black hair and a mustache. He was wearing a black baseball cap, a white T-shirt and black pants.
