NFL Playoff Possibilities

A look at the NFL postseason picture:

AFC

* THEY’RE IN: Kansas City (12-3) and Pittsburgh (11-4) have clinched first-round byes. Buffalo (10-5) has won the East title.

* THEY’RE IN CONTENTION: Oakland (8-7), San Diego (8-7), Indianapolis (8-7), Miami (8-7), Seattle (8-7).

NFC

* THEY’RE IN: San Francisco (10-4) has won West title. Dallas (11-4), Philadelphia (10-5) and Green Bay (10-5) have clinched berths.

* THEY’RE IN CONTENTION: Detroit (9-6) will clinch berth if Minnesota loses tonight or if Lions beat Tampa Bay on Saturday. Minnesota (8-6) clinches berth with victories in its last two games.

* THEY’RE HANGING ON: Chicago (8-7), Atlanta (8-7) and St. Louis (7-8).
