LANCASTER — A restaurant worker found the body of a 43-year-old Los Angeles man, who had been bludgeoned to death in an empty lot, shortly after a group of men had been seen fleeing the area, authorities said Sunday.
The victim, whose name was not released pending notification of his family, was found about 9 p.m. Saturday in a field behind a restaurant in the 800 block of West Avenue I, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Benita Nichol said.
According to witnesses, three to five young men had fled the area minutes before, Nichol said. No motive or suspects were known, she said.
