VENTURA COUNTY WEEKEND : FRIDAY : FOR THE KIDS

A musical missionary of sorts, pianist Laura Spitzer’s forte is making classical music accessible to the uninitiated. With her Steinway in tow, Spitzer has traveled across the United States and Canada, bringing classical music to hundreds of rural communities and schools. Her acclaimed family program melds virtuosic performance with sometimes-humorous tales about the great composers. Spitzer will perform at 7 p.m. for another installment of the Ventura County Children’s Festival at Civic Arts Plaza Forum Theatre, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd., Thousand Oaks.
