Burlington Air Express: The Irvine subsidiary of the Pittston Co. reported third-quarter operating profit of $17.4 million, a 22% decline from the $22.2 million posted for the comparable period last year. Revenue rose 17% to $365.8 million from $311.9 million. The company attributed the revenue gain to rapid international growth. Nine-month operating profit dropped 23% to $39.9 million from $52 million. Revenue increased 18% to $1 billion from $875.7 million.
