Two Seasons Are Enough for Oxnard Baseball Coach

Jack Dalton, the Oxnard High baseball coach the past two seasons, has resigned.
Oxnard was 6-18 last season, 2-12 in Channel League play. A replacement has not been selected.

Lancaster’s entry in the California League will unveil its nickname and logo at a press conference Oct. 10 in Lancaster. General Manager Matt Ellis said the name is related to the aerospace industry.
The team, a Class-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners, announced in July its move from Riverside to Lancaster.
Volleyball
The Valley Oaks club team has scheduled open tryouts for boys in grades sixth through 12th at Grant High on Sunday from noon-3 p.m.

UCLA basketball Coach Jim Harrick will be honored at a benefit dinner hosted by the Rebounders Booster Club of Cal State Northridge on Nov. 5.

Applications are being accepted for the Six Flags 5K run on Oct. 8 at 8 a.m. at Magic Mountain in Valencia.
Entrants will receive a T-shirt and admission to the theme park on the day of the race.
