PREP WATER POLO ROUNDUP : Pflueger’s Three Goals Spark Foothill Past Servite

Jeff Pflueger scored three goals in the first three minutes of the game Friday as top-ranked Foothill easily beat eighth-ranked Servite, 15-7, in a quarterfinal game of the South Coast water polo Tournament at Corona del Mar.
Brian Brown added three goals for Foothill (6-0). Jerry Smith had four goals to lead Servite (3-1). Foothill will play Villa Park in a semifinal game at 9:55 a.m. today at Newport Harbor High.
In other quarterfinal games:
Villa Park 8, Los Alamitos 4--Aaron Waldrip and Brian Pharris each scored two goals for third-ranked Villa Park (9-0). Spartan goalkeeper Jon Pharris had seven saves. The seventh-ranked Griffins (6-3) scored their goals with a man-advantage and on penalty shots. Villa Park will face Foothill in the semifinals.
Long Beach Wilson 9, Costa Mesa 8--Adam Wright scored five goals for Wilson (5-0), which plays Newport Harbor in the semifinals.
Newport Harbor 5, San Clemente 4--Chris Seib and Chris Richardson scored two goals each to help Newport Harbor advance to the semifinals.
