Alemany 13, Simi Valley 9--With just over two minutes to play in the game, Indian defensive back Jose Gonzalez intercepted an errant throw from Brad Norris to preserve a victory at Simi Valley High.
The Pioneers (1-2) committed four second-half turnovers, including two interceptions thrown by Norris.
The Indians (1-2) were led offensively by running back Mario Thompson, who rushed for 157 yards in 14 carries. Indian quarterback Gary Nieto completed nine of 14 passes for 97 yards and rushed for two touchdowns.
Pioneer running back Jason May rushed for 75 yards in 15 carries while receiver Chris Miller caught five passes for 73 yards.
