A $10-million residential development planned for a five-acre strawberry field north of City Hall has won approval from the Planning Commission.
Developer Tom Williams, owner of Saddleback Land and Development Co., had sought city approval for a 43-home development on the city-owned land north of Chapman Avenue between Kraemer Boulevard and All America Way.
Neighbors wanted assurances that sidewalks would be constructed on All America Way for children who use the street to walk to school. The Planning Commission this week said that will definitely be done.
The city will get $2.1 million from the sale of the property.
