OXNARD : City to Sell House in Heritage Square
- Share via
The Oxnard City Council has agreed to sell the Scarlett House, part of the Heritage Square complex of turn-of-the-century homes in the city’s downtown.
The council, acting as the Oxnard Redevelopment Agency, agreed Tuesday to sell the house at the intersection of A and 8th streets for $210,000 to Hassenfarber Limited Partnership, made up of Pat Farber and Jeff Hass.
The sale is expected to provide Oxnard with an additional $1,354 a month for 20 years.
Heritage Square is composed of a dozen old Craftsman bungalows and Victorian-style homes that once belonged to Oxnard’s pioneer families and that are now used as office buildings. The homes were dismantled, moved downtown and restored in a preservation effort.
