MOORPARK : Pair Undergo Surgery for Gunshot Wounds

Two Moorpark men were in stable condition Sunday at Simi Valley Hospital, where they were recovering from surgery for multiple gunshot wounds, a hospital nursing supervisor said.

Liborio Lopez, 31, and Silvano Lopez, 23, were taken to the hospital early Sunday after Ventura County sheriff’s deputies answered a call reporting shots fired in the 400 block of Block Avenue in Moorpark. Deputies found the men in the street, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

They were taken to the hospital, where they underwent surgery, deputies said. There were no witnesses to the shootings, but people interviewed said they heard an argument just before they heard shots fired.

There were no arrests or suspects, and no weapons recovered, deputies said Sunday.
