Coach: Joan Willett (11th year)
1994: 18-4 overall, 7-3 in the Sea View League; lost to Palos Verdes Peninsula, 17-1, in the Southern Section Division I semifinals.
Key returners: Alyssa Artunian, doubles, Sr.; Julie Barraco, doubles, Sr.; Natalie Exon, No. 1 singles, reached quarterfinals of Southern California Sectionals girls’ 18s; Rachel Gunther, No. 3 singles, So.; Lindsey Sterling, doubles, Sr.; Yuka Suzuki, doubles, Sr.; Ali Tenerelli, doubles, Sr.
Key newcomers: Danielle Hustedt, doubles, Fr.; Ribha Saggar, doubles, Jr.; Michelle Steifel, doubles, Fr.; Courtney Tenerelli, No. 2 singles, Fr.
Outlook: The Warriors have a chance to win their first Sea View League title since 1984, but they first must contend with Corona del Mar and Newport Harbor. “I’m hoping we can give [Corona del Mar] a challenge this year,” Willett said. “It will depend on how my doubles teams perform.” Outside of Exon, who defeated Corona del Mar’s Nina Vaughan twice last year, Woodbridge’s singles is suspect. But Willett said she likes what she’s seen of Tenerelli.
