Coach: Debbie Fleming (11th year).
1994: 19-2 overall, 10-0 in the Sunset League; lost to Laguna Beach, 12-6, in the Southern Section Division II finals.
Key returners: Danielle Brandlin, No. 2 singles, Jr.; Sonia Ralli, doubles, Sr.; Melissa Rosenthal, No. 1 singles, defending Sunset League singles champion, Sr.; Sala Satele, No. 3 singles, So.; Erin White, doubles, Sr.
Key newcomers: Alissa Egge, doubles, So.; Monica Ralli, will play with her sister at No. 1 or No. 2 doubles, So.; Lauren Teweles, No. 3 doubles, So.; Christina Wong, will team with Teweles, Jr.
Outlook: Fleming won’t have to wait long to find out about her team. Los Alamitos plays Corona del Mar, Dana Hills, Villa Park and Newport Harbor--all Top 10 teams--within the first two weeks. “We’ll just have to prove ourselves,” she said. “We’re just going to have to play tough every single match.” Fleming has toughness and experience at singles with Rosenthal and Brandlin and leadership in doubles with White, a four-year starter. The rest of the doubles are fairly inexperienced. “We’re young but our young kids are good.”
