Nudists to Protest Beach Crackdown

PLAYALINDA BEACH, Fla. — A nude sunbathing club’s members vowed to stage daily protests on a popular Florida beach after police arrested their president for wearing only a baseball cap and sneakers.
Frank Cervasio, president of the Central Florida Naturists club, was arrested Friday after Brevard County police began enforcing a new county law banning skimpy beachwear and nude sunbathing.
Cervasio posted $50 bail and was released from jail a few hours later, but club members said they would continue using a portion of the Playalinda Beach, where nude sunbathers have gathered for decades. A federal lawsuit has been filed to challenge the new law.
