WASHINGTON — David Gergen, a longtime journalist and former aide to presidents of both parties, is returning to U.S. News & World Report.
Mortimer B. Zuckerman, the magazine’s chairman and editor in chief, said Gergen would return to the news weekly as an editor at large.
Gergen had served the Richard Nixon, Gerald R. Ford and Ronald Reagan administrations before his last stint at U.S. News, which he left to counsel President Clinton.
After 18 months, Gergen left the Clinton Administration at the end of 1994 and became a visiting professor at Duke University in North Carolina.
