WESTMINSTER — A 38-year-old woman was shot in the right arm and her husband was pistol-whipped and tied up Saturday night during what police describe as a home invasion robbery.
Three men apparently forced their way into a home in the 13300 block of Cherry Street around 8:50 p.m., Westminster Police Sgt. Dwight Moore said. One of the men shot the woman and struck her husband with a handgun, Moore said.
The men then tied up the husband and another woman who was thought to be a cousin, Moore said. None of the victims’ names were available late Saturday.
The men stole a purse containing $20 and some credit cards, Moore said. No vehicle was seen or heard and the victims said they did not recognize the men.
The woman who was shot was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange. She was reported to be in guarded condition. The men are still at large, Moore said.
