Ventura County Actions Will Hurt Area Planning
- Share via
* Pressure is being brought to bear on the city of Calabasas and Los Angeles County to accommodate traffic flow to and from the proposed Ventura County Ahmanson Ranch development in their general plans.
Ventura County does not suffer any impact because Supervisors Maria VanderKolk and Vicki Howard vacated the easement through east Bell Canyon when they approved this massive development. This was a result of concerns expressed by Bell Canyon residents.
It is fundamentally wrong for one agency to take actions to approve such a project and take steps to isolate it from their area so that their neighbors are forced to suffer the deleterious impacts. If allowed to proceed, this can only destroy any attempts at regional planning.
