Grace D. Brazill; Retired Ventura Nurse

Grace D. Brazill, a resident of Ventura County for 46 years, died Friday. She was 73.
A resident of Ventura, Brazill was born in Danville, Pa., and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. For 25 years, Brazill was a nurse at the former Ventura General Hospital, which became Ventura County Medical Center. She was a member of the Rosary Altar Society of San Buenaventura Mission and the American Legion Auxiliary.
“She was a very devoted mother and grandmother,” husband Irving Brazill said. “She loved [her family] very much.”
Besides her husband, Brazill is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn and G. David Stemac, and grandchildren Charles and Valerie Stemac, all of Ridgecrest, and brother Jim Donohue of Pennsylvania.
Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Tuesday at San Buenaventura Mission; burial will follow at Santa Paula Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Joseph P. Reardon Funeral Home in Ventura.
