Crash on Pearblossom Highway Takes Life of Las Vegas Woman, 43

LANCASTER — A 43-year-old Las Vegas woman died after her husband drove across a double-yellow line in order to pass a semi trailer truck and collided head-on with another car, authorities said.
The accident, on Pearblossom Highway near Avenue W, happened at 8:50 p.m. Friday as the man was driving around a bend, California Highway Patrol Officer Keri Hawkins said.
The woman was pronounced dead at Antelope Valley Hospital Medical Center. Her husband suffered minor injuries.
The driver of the other car, a 39-year-old Lancaster man, was taken to Desert Palms Hospital in serious condition, Hawkins said.
The victims’ names were not released.
