From Times Staff and Wire Reports
A 19-year-old former paratrooper was charged with killing a Moroccan immigrant who was pushed into the Seine and drowned during a rally of extreme rightists. Michael Freminet, the former paratrooper, admitted that he slapped Brahim Bouarram, 29, but denied intending to kill him. Two of Freminet’s companions were charged with complicity. Police said the suspects admitted that they had been drinking heavily while in Paris for a rally of the conservative National Front, which espouses a strong anti-immigration policy.
