HEALTH : Free HIV, AIDS Tests Available

The East Valley Community Health Center recently added the AIDS Service Center in Pasadena as its latest satellite office to offer free HIV and AIDS testing.
The Pomona-based Community Health Center offers free HIV and AIDS testing in Pomona, Covina, West Covina, El Monte, Azusa and at college campuses around the East San Gabriel Valley.
Free testing at the AIDS Service Center in Pasadena began this month. Testing and counseling will be available from 6 to 9 p.m. every Monday. A Spanish-speaking counselor will be on hand one Monday night a month.
The AIDS Service Center is at 126 W. Del Mar Blvd. To schedule an appointment, call the center at (800) 543-8272 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Free AIDS testing in Pasadena is also available through the city’s Health Department at the Jackie Robinson Center, 1020 N. Fair Oaks Ave. The tests are available every Tuesday to the first 25 people to make an appointment at the beginning of each month. To make an appointment, call (818) 791-7983.
