Irvine and Tustin Weeklies Will Be Delivered With Times

Special Saturday editions of the Irvine World News and Tustin Weekly will be delivered with the Los Angeles Times Orange County Edition in those two cities beginning April 1, it was announced Wednesday.

Regular free delivery will continue for the Irvine World News on Thursdays and the Tustin Weekly on Fridays. Saturday editions of the newspapers, both published by Irvine-based Manning Media Management, will contain new editorial content and be delivered by The Times to its subscribers.

“Our strong countywide news coverage combined with the in-depth community news reported in the Irvine World News and Tustin Weekly will provide the most complete package possible for our readers and advertisers,” said Judy Sweeney, president of The Times Orange County.

Brien Manning, president of Manning Media Management, said the cooperative effort “will strengthen the positions of each paper in this highly competitive market.”

Irvine World News, founded in 1970, has been a Manning newspaper since 1982. Tustin Weekly was founded by Manning in 1990.

A unit of Times Mirror Co., which owns The Times, already publishes several community newspapers that are delivered to Times subscribers in Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, Huntington Beach, Orange and the Saddleback Valley.
