Television: Walt Disney Co. remains interested in buying a television network but current prices are too high, Walt Disney Television & Telecommunications Chairman Richard Frank said. During a panel discussion sponsored by the International Radio & Television Society in New York, Frank said Disney is in no hurry to get into the network business. “It’s price,” he said. “We’re not going to overpay.” Disney is known to have talked with General Electric Co. last year about buying NBC, but there was no deal because GE asked for too much money and wanted to maintain control. Some in Hollywood have speculated that Disney will soon be back in the hunt to gain one of the few distribution outlets for its shows.
* Children: Time Warner’s TW Kids recording label said it will develop a line of audio products based on classic Warner Bros. animated characters. The projects are expected to include albums, read-along tapes and toy sets based on the Looney Tunes, Tiny Toons, Animaniacs and Lovables shows.
