Coach: Scott Glabb (fifth year).
1993-94: 15-1, 6-0 in the Sunset League; the league champions finished third in the Southern Section Division I finals and were ranked fifth in the Orange County Wrestling Assn.’s final top 10 poll.
Key returners: Ignacio Bahena, Jr., 119; Luis Godinez, Jr., 145; Sadie Morales, Jr., 125; Octavio Olivares, Jr., 140; Alfonso Perez, Sr., 160; Brian Schawlm, Sr., 171.
Key newcomers: Mike Bravo, Sr., 130; Jose Morales, So., 125; Fernando Serratos, So., 103.
Outlook: Although Santa Ana has lost to graduation Roger Santiago (103) and Miguel Valencia (112), who each won section Division I championships (Santiago finished second at the State tournament), the Saints still have an arsenal of talent. Ranked second in the preseason poll, Santa Ana is led by Perez, who was the Sunset League champion in 1992-93 and the runner-up last season. With the majority of his team made up of juniors, Glabb is not concerned about the lack of seniors. Santa Ana has most of the weight classes covered with experience.
