First Lady Caps Boughs of U.S. Christmas Tree

WASHINGTON — First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton kicked off the holiday season at the White House on Monday, climbing aboard a hydraulic lift to top the national Christmas tree with a stained-glass star.
The ornament is white glass decorated with 15 shards of ice-blue glass, illuminated with a 175-watt lamp. It was donated by GE Lighting of Cleveland.
