Accountant Offers Advice on Paperwork

John (Jack) Jacobs, president of Jacobs & Jacobs, an accounting firm that operates in Ventura County, raises a question: How would business people keep up with today’s mounting paperwork requirements without computers?
“I guess the computers make it possible to survive,” he said. “Then again, maybe we wouldn’t have to make so many reports if we didn’t have the machines to do them on.”
His advice to business people who feel that they’re overburdened by the constant need to record tax, environmental and employee information: “Look past the problem. Concentrate on your opportunities.”
Jacobs, 47, and two partners operate a firm that was founded in Ojai 50 years ago by Jacobs’ father, Jodfrey. An uncle, Anzac Jacobs, later joined the company. In addition to Ojai, Jacobs & Jacobs has offices in Simi Valley and Thousand Oaks.
