Noe Ousted in Junior Golf

Terry Noe of Fullerton won in the first round of match play but lost in the second at the Rolex Junior Golf Classic at the par-72 La Paloma Country Club courses in Tucson.

Noe, the reigning U.S. Junior champion, beat Joel Kribel of Pleasanton, 5 and 4, but lost to Ryuki Imada of Tampa, Fla., 4 and 2.

Keri Cornelius of Scottsdale, Ariz., beat Jenny Lee of Fullerton, 4 and 3, in the first round of the girls’ division.

Nina Vaughan of Corona del Mar High advanced to the round of 16 of the national girls’ 14s indoor tennis tournament in St. Louis. She defeated Anne Nguyen of Lancaster, Pa., 6-1, 6-4.
