OUTLOOK
Now is the time for Westminster to be a playoff-contending team. With eight seniors and five juniors on this year’s squad, there’s no time like the present. Katz believes with Farroux and Schult, both 6-2, the Lions can compete with anyone in the paint. The two combined for 14 points and 13 rebounds per game last season. Farroux, who signed a letter of intent with Nevada Las Vegas, is expected to be one of the top players in the league. Both she and Kavan (eight points and three assists per game) are four-year varsity players with valuable experience. Ramirez (5.7 points) also has three years of varsity time under her belt. Along with their post game, Katz believes the Lions have good perimeter shooting and an excellent pressure defense. Seniors Noland (transfer from Estancia) and Erickson (transfer from Rancho Alamitos) will be asked to fit into the Lions’ plan immediately. Moore, last year’s junior varsity MVP, has excellent skills.
