Best draw: Mater Dei. A clear field to the semifinals.
Worst draw: Bishop Amat. The top-seeded team is looking at facing a rather nasty Edison team in the second round.
Notes: In case anyone out there doesn’t know, Los Alamitos has a 45-game unbeaten streak. One more victory ties the Southern Section record held by Temple City (1969-73) and Canyon Country Canyon (1983-86) . . . The Griffins have won three consecutive section titles. No Orange County team has won four consecutive . . . Los Alamitos can complete a sweep of divisions. The Griffins began their title run in Division III in 1991, then won the Division II championship the last two seasons . . . Esperanza tied Los Alamitos, 14-14, in the 1992 Division title game . . . Mater Dei could play Eisenhower in the second round. The Monarchs were throttled, 56-3, by Eisenhower last season . . . McCutcheon, who has gained more than 1,741 yards and scored 25 touchdowns, is the son of former Ram Lawrence McCutcheon. Perry, an ever-dangerous receiver, is the son of former Ram Rod Perry. Their fathers were teammates in the late 1970s . . . Bishop Amat opens against Mission Viejo, just as it did in 1992, when the Lancers won the title.
