Farroux Changes Her Mind, Signs With Nevada Las Vegas

Westminster’s Amber Farroux signed a letter of intent Monday to play women’s basketball at Nevada Las Vegas, 1 1/2 weeks after making an oral commitment to attend Long Beach State.
Farroux, a forward, averaged nine points and seven rebounds last year.
“I thought I wanted to go to Long Beach, and UNLV was still in the picture,” Farroux said. “UNLV asked me to come on an unofficial visit on Friday and I liked it a lot. So I decided to sign with UNLV.”
She said she preferred the UNLV campus, and its academic and basketball programs to Long Beach State.
