Driver Injured as Truck Overturns

PACOIMA — A man whose pickup truck careened off a freeway overpass Monday night, plummeting into a park beneath it, was in serious condition at a local hospital, authorities said.
The truck landed upside down in Paxton Park, said Jim Wells of the Los Angeles Fire Department. “He was trapped under the truck,” Wells said.
About 20 firefighters worked to free the man in the 9 p.m. accident, said Wells.
The unidentified man was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in Mission Hills, Wells said.
