Seminars for Spanish-speaking parents and counseling for high school students will be funded by two grants received by the Burbank-based Bridge Focus organization.
The Whitecap Foundation has given Bridge Focus, which mainly serves the east San Fernando Valley, a grant of $9,738 for the Spanish-Speaking Parent Connection and children’s group connected with it.
The organization also received $17,500 from federal Community Development Block Grant funds awarded to the city of Burbank. This money will be used for individual and group counseling for youths in Los Angeles County-run alternative education schools in Burbank.
The services provided by the grants are free to all participants, said Richard Hill, chief executive officer of Bridge Focus, a nonprofit community agency.
