RETAIL AND RESTAURANTS : Hotel Will Offer a Choice of Gourmet or Traditional Thanksgiving Feasts

Dining opportunities will be bountiful at Orange County restaurants this Thanksgiving.

For those who don’t want to cook or to be conventional either, Surf & Sand Hotel in Laguna Beach is offering not only the traditional feast but also a gourmet menu.

The hotel’s Splashes restaurant will feature Thanksgiving specialties a la carte as well as a three-course dinner from noon to 10 p.m. Prices will range from $15 to $20 for adults, with a $12 “Tom Turkey Platter” for children 12 and younger.

The regular dinner will feature butternut squash soup, autumn greens, wild mushroom flan and roasted turkey with potatoes, chestnut bread stuffing, cranberry relish and giblet sauce.

At the Surf & Sand’s Towers restaurant, the choices will be a bit more exotic for four-course holiday meal, served from 1:30 to 8 p.m. and priced from $35 to $40. The gourmet feast kicks off with wild mushroom bisque and sauteed crab cakes.

Entrees include roasted free range turkey with potato garlic puree, chestnut stuffing and giblet sauce; roasted prime rib of beef with potato pancakes; and sauteed Atlantic salmon with spinach and autumn squash with champagne sauce.
