GARDEN GROVE : Letter Carriers Will Keep Eye on Residents
- Share via
Letter carriers will not only deliver mail in this city, but they now will help alert police to possible problems at residents’ homes.
Under a program the U.S. Postal Service and the Police Department are launching this week, letter carriers will notify police if they notice that a resident’s mail is stacking up.
A police officer will then check to determine if there is any problem.
Dubbed “Someone to Watch Over Me,” the program is intended primarily for seniors, the disabled and sick residents.
Officer Frank Caruso and Garden Grove Postmaster Alyce Alford will provide details of the program at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Garden Grove Post Office, 10441 Stanford Ave.
