Soprano Elizabeth Koukladas, 29, of Westminster won a $500 Encouragement Award at the Metropolitan Opera auditions Saturday at USC. One of 12 finalists, she had placed second the Met’s Orange County district auditions last month in Orange.
The Children’s Museum at La Habra has received an $8,000 donation from the PacifiCare Foundation, a philanthropic arm of PacifiCare Health Systems. The money will help support the museum’s development of a story-telling festival.
