Schools: Counselor Honored for Service

The Los Angeles Unified School District has honored Robin Sheiner with an award for her work counseling students after a fatal shooting at Hollywood High School.
Sheiner, assistant program director at Home-SAFE Child Care, a nonprofit agency that provides family and child support services, was honored for her participation in helping students cope with a classmate’s death in a gang-related shooting Sept. 7.
Sheiner was presented with the award by Board of Education member Jeff Horton and Jeanne E. Hon, Hollywood High principal.
