AIDS: Support Group Wins $12,000

A Hollywood-based support organization for people with HIV or AIDS has received an award for strong community service.
L.A. Shanti, a nonprofit organization, received $12,000 as the winner of the Don Perkins Community Service Award from the Los Angeles chapter of Public Relations Society of America.
“This money is much needed and will make a big difference in helping us to spread the word about our high-quality, free programs,” said Sue Crumpton, Shanti executive director.
