Leslie’s Poolmart, a Chatsworth swimming pool supplies retailer, reported earnings and sales gains for its third quarter and nine months that ended Sept. 30.
The company said the improved results were fueled by double-digit increases in comparable store sales and reduced expenses as a percentage of sales.
Leslie’s Poolmart’s third quarter profit was $3.23 million, up 27% from its $2.53-million profit a year earlier. Its sales rose 18% in the quarter, to $46.9 million from $39.9 million.
In the recent nine-month period, the company earned $6.94 million, a 41% increase, while its sales grew 18% to $125.6 million. In the first nine months of 1993, it had net income of $4.91 million on $106.5 million in sales.
