SEASON AT A GLANCE: Sawyer, a senior outside hitter, was named to all-tournament teams in the Ventura Tournament in September and the Nordhoff Tournament two weeks ago. Nordhoff’s only defeat this season was to San Marcos, ranked No. 6 in Division I.

WEEK AT A GLANCE: Sawyer’s 25 kills led the Rangers, ranked No. 3 in Division IV at the time, to a four-game victory over second-ranked Santa Ynez. “They’re one of the toughest teams were going to play all year but they were still more than we expected,” Sawyer said. Sawyer led Nordhoff in kills against Frontier League rivals Moorpark and Calabasas. The Rangers, who are now ranked No. 2, won both matches in five games.
