Giovannettone Leads Chaminade

PLAYA DEL REY — Running back Jason Giovannettone rushed for 112 yards in 21 carries and scored four touchdowns to lead Chaminade High to a 34-12 victory over St. Bernard in a Mission League opener Friday night.
Giovannettone also caught four passes for 27 yards and Tyler Fenwick had four receptions for 82 yards. The Eagles (4-2, 1-0) struck early as quarterback Tom Racius connected on a 58-yard touchdown pass to Fenwick on the second play of the game. Racius completed 13 of 28 for 148 yards and one touchdown.
Chaminade forced five fumbles, had five sacks and one interception while holding the Vikings (3-3, 0-1) to 88 yards.
