CITY SECTION FOOTBALL ROUNDUP : Cleveland Defense Tames Tigers
- Share via
On a night that San Fernando High was penalized 15 times for 138 yards, flags weren’t the only things raining down on the Tigers.
So, too, were Cleveland defenders.
Just ask San Fernando quarterback Keijuan Douglas, who lost a fumble, had a pass intercepted, failed to complete a pass in five attempts, and was sacked five times as Cleveland remained undefeated in the Northwest Valley Conference with a 40-14 victory.
Johnny Lopez, the Cavaliers’ quarterback, had a much better night. He completed eight of 14 for 163 yards and three touchdowns. Jay Jay Padilla paced the Cleveland ground attack, rushing for 74 yards and two touchdowns in seven carries.
Cleveland (4-2, 3-0) scored on its first two possessions and didn’t trail.
Running back Tehran Price carried three times for 91 yards and a touchdown for San Fernando (3-3, 2-1).
